The film, set in the near future, follows Teresa (Brbara Cole), who returns home to the village of Papers in a semi-dry Brazilian concerto to attend her grandmother’s funeral. Upon arrival, Teresa immediately notices signs that Bacters is in trouble. Basic functions are lacking, mobile phone coverage fades, access to drinking water is blocked, and a truck with drinking water arrives full of bullets. It soon becomes clear that the corrupt government has completely abandoned the village: not only has Papers been literally taken off the map, but its citizens are under attack. When the person in charge is near, villagers must prepare an organized resistance to avoid further damage.
